Kidney Stones

Kidney stones are small hard deposits that often cause pain as they leave the body. There are numerous different types of kidney stones. While urologists can perform procedures to try to remove or reduce the burden of stones, nephrologists can help determine the composition of the stone and tailor therapy to each individual patient to reduce and hopefully prevent stone recurrence in the future based on each patients’ stone type and urine composition.
